So, as it seems to be a never-ending winter, I feel like it only keeps getting colder and colder, I find myself dreaming of some of the spring trends that I wish I could wear...like something sheer! This spring it seems that anything sheer should be a go to staple; whether its a dress, shirt, blouse, even a skirt...if worn properly! I'm not talking about a completely sheer, over-revealing kind of garment, but rather an appropriate, yet alluring twist on that notion. On the Spring Runway 2009, it was "sheer madness"; many designers had amazing sheer pieces and not to mention the array of celebrities who have taken to this trend as well. A sheer garment is so chic and simple, but oozes just the right amount of sexuality without being over the top. Anytime I see this trend I feel sheer joy.
Obsession du Jour: "Boyfriend blazers"! I love the over sized and slouchy look of these types of blazers, but they still obtain that element of sophistication! Here are some of my favorites!
The first two blazers are from Urban Outfitters and the third is Alexander Wang. I have also seen some really cute ones at Forever21 and Topshop!

Erin Wasson. Model, muse, designer, and fashion icon. She undoubtedly has a style all her own, playing on a keyed up grunge look. Her knack for worn out tees, patent bottoms, and simplistic yet not even close to average ensembles make her style daring and unrivaled. Erin takes the phrase "tres chic" to a completely new level.
Not to mention, she is coming out with her own clothing line. She is teaming up with RVCA to collaborate on a project that will definitely send their items flying off the shelf. I am excitedly awaiting this line! Her ability to incorporate her own sense of style while keeping that low-key, laid back California essence intertwined with each piece makes them all the better and every one a basic necessity. The countdown begins!

I know it has been a while since I last posted. I've been busy getting back into the swing of things with classes and all. After unpacking my suitcases, I realized that it's time to add something new to my wardrobe. A twist on an old, staple classic will do the trick: The Boyfriend Jeans. When I first got a glimpse of them on the big screen in Sex and the City, I knew I had to have a pair. The way "Carrie" wore them was so effortlessly chic. Throughout the past couple of months, I have repeatedly seen this style of jean appear everywhere. From new spring 2009 runway shows to street style fashionistas, "the boyfriend jean" is taking an interest to many. This trend will definitely be one to buy, for it will be a staple element in anyone's closet. I searched the internet to find an array of boyfriend jeans that I thought suited the description perfectly. With the distressed, torn, washed-out style and baggy, rolled-up cut, they can either be dressed up or down. Below is a selection, ranging from moderately priced to some that were just too good to pass up. I know when it comes to a staple, it's best to splurge; the amount of use will definitely be worthwhile. Easy, comfortable, and à la mode, who would be one to pass these up?
Last week I was interested in finding someone who's fashion intrigued me. I have always had a liking for Camilla Belle's timeless style. From her dress choices for premieres and events to even her casual days, she always finds pieces that are one-of-a-kind. I love the color palettes, prints, and shapes/cuts of her dresses and the show-stopping impact that they create. Her elegant, invigorating, and fashionable spin on feminine pieces creates a uniqueness, leaving me wanting more and wondering what she'll come up with next. After being in the cold weather for about a week now, I realized I'm in need of some more winter clothes and accessories. Here some of the great options I found...they are all from Free People.
~I love these tights...I'm picturing them with just about anything...from a dress, skirt, to even shorts.
~This sweater would be a great winter staple...its neutral color would go with anything, but the studs give it a twist.
~The headband is useful in more ways than one...a headband as well as a much "trendier" take on ear warmers.
~I really like how these warmers are perfect for your legs and your arms...just depends on your mood for the day.
~These leather pants can be a little more versailte than the leather leggings.

So, I'm back at school in Champaign...and I must say that I'm a little depressed about it. I miss the cloudless, warm days in Arizona...not to mention that a high of 18 degrees makes it a little harder getting dressed in the morning. But, when I arrived at school I did have a package waiting with a pair of BCBG peep toe booties! They are my absolute obsession...they are sooo comfortable even though they have an over 4" heel! They were also surprisingly very good in the snow and ice...who knew? Here are some pics.
And I would have to say that my obsession du jour is men's over sized button down dress shirts...before I left home I took a few of my brother's that were a little too small for him and I cannot stop wearing them! I wore a plain white one last night and a plaid flannel one today...they are very versatile...can be easily dressed up or just casual.. as well as a good way to keep warm!

Obsession du jour: Boots No7 Stay Perfect Eyeliner from target. It is a liquid eyeliner and comes in many different fun colors...our favorite is the color midas. Midas is a shimmery champange color..so its light and fresh enough for the day time, but can also add that glitzy effect to a smokey eye for night. Not to mention, it's only $8.99!

Obsession du jour: The American Apparel cirlce scarf. It is a great accessory during these winter months. It's very cozy, comes in a range of colors, and you can wear it in a variety of different ways! Were obsessing over how much use you can get out of just a single scarf...and the price isn't too bad either! So, take advantage of this functional scarf and try to stay warm!
While rummaging through the mess of my room, in an attempt to at least partly clean out my drawers, I found what I like to call "my scrapbook for fashion." I had created these collages with ripped out magazine images from earlier this fall. They reflect the trends, ideas, and design aspects that seemed to grasp my attention and, once again, ignite my love for artistic creations.
