Mode de 2009

Salut!

After spending time looking at the spring 2009 runway shows, we decided to put a collage together of our favorite upcoming trends. Some of our favorite designers' spring lines include Balmain, Givenchy, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Diane von Furstenberg. We love the simple, elegant silhouettes combined with the edgy studs redundant throughout Balmain's line. Givenchy's feminine color palette but use of studs and exciting new use of material make this line ideal. For Emma, 3.1 Phillip Lim has forever been one of her favorites. The timeless, classic pieces are essential but are enhanced by a uniqueness and beauty creating a fashion forward statement that will always keep her captivated. The new spring line has it all: fringe, ruffles, chunky neckalces, edgy embellishment, beautiful tailoring, and new shoes that are absolutely phenomenal! Diane von Furstenberg never ceases to amaze us. Her ability to know what women want and capture it through the movement and flowing of bright patterns creates a bold statement. By the way, we're loving her hair pieces used on the models. Below are some pictures of these oh-so hyped up about lines.

When looking at multiple different designer's new lines, we couldn't help but notice the overpowering and eye catching use of chunky jewels and gems. Whether used for large set necklaces, one-of-a-kind stilettos, sleeves, belts, shirts or skirts, it is apparent that this trend will be something to take spring by storm. Matthew Williamson's bright colors and use of encrusted jewels in not just one place but various areas, from straps to cuffs on sleeves, this line truely captures the essence of glitz, glam, and sparkle. Something that will always grasp em's attention. Below are close-up shots of all the lines that we believe have created exquisite and absolutely beautiful pieces that any one of us can not get out of our head.

Here are some pictures from last night...we went to dinner with some friends and thought that the old Mexcican restaurant would act as the perfect place for a mini photo shoot with some interesting backdrops.
